Technology Expert & Innovation Scout (f/m/d)

P21st is the PALFINGER Corporate Incubator and is focusing on innovation in order to enhance, complement or substitute existing products, services, value chains, and competences. We build up strategic value by accessing new technologies and business models for PALFINGER.
In the role of the Technology Expert & Innovation Scout (f/m/d) you work together with the Head of Innovation on the front-end of the innovation process. As a P21st core team member, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and tracking emerging technologies and innovative trends that align with our business objectives. Your role will involve proactive technology scouting, market analysis, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to drive the adoption of new technologies. You will play a critical role in shaping our innovation in particular technology roadmap and ensuring we remain at the forefront of technological advancements. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a passion for exploring new frontiers.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving the technology and innovation scouting and search within the global technology trend community

  • Analyze technology and innovation trends relevant for PALFINGER,
    - Scout technology developments and follow-up with the PALFINGER core organization = transfer of knowledge and proof of concept
    - Develop and prioritize early stage solutions and ideas, concept and PoCs
    - Keep overview on technology and innovation roadmap for defined focus topics of P21st.

  • Actively drive and support projects and collaboration

  • Besides own technology evaluation-projects actively contribute to the innovation strategy radar (trend analysis) and other P21st initiatives
    - Have focus on the technical aspects of projects and coordinate them with other P21st team members and other internal or external stakeholders.

  • Shape, introduce and maintain expert network as a process ownership

  • Build and maintain a personal internal and external partner network supporting technology and innovation scouting, and other tasks at hand
    - Proactively participate in events such as hackathons, innovation days, focus group interviews and other events in the P21st environment.

  • Technical lead in project driven university cooperations

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in a technical field with min. 5 years of working experience in a technology-driven environment
  • In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies, market trends, and innovation ecosystems
  • Experience in a start-up environment as a plus
  • Relevant experience and track record of successfully managing technology-driven innovation projects and technology scouting and validation
  • T-Shaped personality: having deep know how in a specific area and a broad technology overview knowledge over various technologies
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities, with a proven track record of establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships.
  • Personal network in the technology innovation community and tech trend scene is a plus
  • Well organized and structured person with hands-on implementation and project management skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit which can deal with the tension between start-up speed of action and corporate process orientation
  • Flexible personality, who enjoys operating in an intercultural environment and brings willingness to travel
  • Strong communicator, who can translate and disseminate complex issues
  • Team player, who enjoys working in a creative and innovative team

Minimum gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 48.877,36 per year. We are willing to overpay according to training and qualification.
