Operations Plant Manager - Köstendorf (f/m/d)

As Operations Plant Manager at our Köstendorf site, you will play a crucial role in shaping and leading the operational success of one of PALFINGER's flagship production facilities. In this key leadership position, you will ensure the achievement of our plant's goals in availability, quality, cost, and delivery performance. Acting as the operational backbone of the site, you will also oversee the EMEA Assembly Prototyping Center and collaborate closely with the Site Manager and Managing Directors to drive the overall site development and strategic alignment with PALFINGER Group objectives.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive Strategy and Culture Implementation: Translate the PALFINGER Group vision, strategy, and core values into tangible local initiatives and projects. Foster a culture of empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the plant
  • Optimize Plant Operations: Ensure efficient end-to-end order fulfillment - from goods receipt to shipment--meeting defined targets in cost, quality, and delivery. Establish and maintain LEAN processes and a strong shop floor management system
  • Lead Prototyping Execution: Oversee the delivery of assembly prototypes from mock-up to near-series level and support process industrialization during product development. Ensure smooth series ramp-up in collaboration with target plants
  • Develop People and Teams: Build, coach, and mentor the plant's leadership team. Encourage continual professional development and foster an environment that attracts and retains talent through effective employer branding
  • Ensure Compliance & Safety: Uphold occupational health and safety standards, manage environmental and sustainability initiatives, and ensure compliance with internal and external audits

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed higher technical education (university or technical college) and 10+ years of professional experience in operations and/or prototyping management
  • Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams and fostering an outcome-driven performance culture
  • Strong understanding of assembly and testing processes, including systems engineering and DFx methodologies
  • Comprehensive expertise in LEAN production systems, cost management, and key operational KPIs
  • High proficiency in IT and digital tools (MS Office, SAP S4 Hana, Siemens Teamcenter, collaboration and project management tools) combined with excellent communication and organizational skills

Minimum yearly gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 66.740,94 based on full-time employment. According to experience and qualification, we offer a market-conform overpayment.
