Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

  • Research and Learning: Learn about Infineon's Smart Power Switches and their reliability testing to gain a deep understanding of the technology and its applications
  • Skill Development: Improve skills in circuit simulations, PCB design, and thermal management using state-of-the-art tools to enhance technical capabilities and expertise
  • Study and Evaluation: Study different heating/cooling topologies and develop an evaluation scheme to scientifically compare them and identify optimal solutions
  • Design and Prototyping: Design, build, and evaluate a working prototype of an accurate dynamic thermal management system to demonstrate practical application of knowledge and skills
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document results and findings by writing and submitting a Master's thesis, presenting a comprehensive and well-structured report of the research and development process


This thesis has to be written in cooperation with a university.

Type of employment: Temporary / Full-time (flexible working hours from Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.)
Duration: min. 12 months

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

  • Education: Pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or a similar field
  • Knowledge and Technical Skills: Proficient in Altium or Cadence PCB design, with knowledge of software tools such as LTspice or SIMetrix, Plecs or MATLAB - Simulink as a plus
  • Hands-on Experience: Basic competence in working in a lab environment and preferred experience in mechanical and soldering skills required
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, independently structure research and writing processes, and a mindset motivated to explore new topics
  • Teamwork: capable of working effectively in an international team
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English, German is a plus

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry (full-time), employment group D for master students (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2025.pdf).
