Join Infineon's Power & Sensor Systems (PSS) division in the Ion Trap Systems (ITS) group. We leverage Infineon's world-class capabilities in microfabrication to build state-of-the-art trapped-ion quantum processors for the world's leading quantum computing companies.

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Investigate stress in metal thin films: Examine causes and effects of stress and identify key drivers of wafer bow
• Develop methods to reduce wafer bow: Develop strategies to reduce wafer bow by controlling critical process parameters
• Fabricate test wafers within a structured DOE: Plan and execute split lots introducing controlled variations in metal stack parameters (composition, thickness, deposition, anneal), work in a cleanroom, ensure repeatability of results
• Deliver a strong master thesis: Link your results to existing literature, present your results in an accessible way, and formulate actionable recommendations for future fabrications

Type of employment: Temporary / Full-time (flexible working hours from Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.)
Duration: 12 months

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

• Education: Motivated student (f/m/div) in materials science, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering or similar, with strong academic results
• Knowledge and technical skills: Data analysis in Python, MATLAB or similar, preferably experience with simulation
• Hands-on experience: Proven track record of delivering measurable results, able to work effectively in an international team
• Organizational skills: High degree of flexibility, good time management, analytical mindset with a curiosity to explore new topics
• Language Skills: Fluent in English, German is a plus

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry (full-time), employment group B for bachelor students, employment group D for master students (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2025.pdf).
