Type of Contract: Temporary for one year with the start on first of Jan, 2026

We are currently looking for a Category Manager (m/f/d) in our Raw Materials and Packaging team, focusing on Process Chemicals and Process Catalysts. You will be able to work with a global portfolio of very interesting products and technical applications, helping to ensure the global sourcing, at the lowest Total Cost of Ownership for Borealis group. Of course besides prices, it is including quality conformance, supply delivery accuracy, inventory turnover, life cycle cost and risk.

The position is time bound with a limited contract and you shall support flawless take over from our colleague that is taking a paternity break.

In this role, you:

• will develop, implement, and follow up on sourcing strategies for the assigned portfolio in line with company strategies, business plans and policies. Align such strategies with all relevant stakeholders, and approval form (such as senior procurement management, Sourcing councils, group steering committees)
• will be responsible for competitive bidding, contract negotiations and establishment of compliant supply contracts (or Frame Agreements) for the assigned portfolio.
• enhance supplier relationship management, and contractor management.
• assure in-depth knowledge of global markets by using all available (re-) sources and (market intelligence, benchmarking) tools.tTake responsibility for implementing safety measures and improvements, towards suppliers together with the business.
• ensure a company wide perspective in order to obtain the optimum result for Borealis group companies as "one company" by capturing multi-site/entity synergies.
• introduce innovative thinking and ideas related to the assigned portfolio and sourcing processes.

About you

• Master degree or equivalent in Economics, Business or Chemistry.
• 5-15 years experience within procurement, sourcing of technical equipment/services, and/or commercial management in Borealis or equivalent industry
• Fluent verbal and written command of English (at business level) and site language(s)
• Demonstrated proficiency to negotiate commercial deals
• Good team working and communication skills, team leadership
• Analytical, tactical and strategic thinking
• Ability to drive topics in cross functional teams
• Experience in (Procurement-) project management preferred

Your salary package will reflect your profile, experience and the specifics of the country/location you apply for.
Should you join us in one of our Austrian locations and according to Austrian law , we offer compensation based on the collective labor agreement starting at EUR 78.383,90 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) plus a yearly bonus, and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
