About the job

DEIF A/S is a global Leader in power management solutions, committed to innovation and sustainability. As our newSenior Power Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the technological direction within our lntegrated Control & Protection project. You'll collaborate closely with R&D, Product Management, and other departments to develop and implement technical solutions that meet market demands while ensuring robust protection for distribution grids.

Working tasks & responsibilities

  • Maintain a 360° view of relevant technologies and academic advancements
  • Align strategic technology aspects with the product development roadmap
  • Participate in product development and customer projects
  • Modelling of power systems and its components and select proper technical solutions
  • Conduct research and develop technical solutions based on market-driven requirements
  • Coordinate with other R&D departments to leverage technologies across the platform
  • Communicate potential technology risks effectively

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Solid understanding of medium-voltage (MV) distribution systems and protection of distribution grids.
  • 5-7 years of experience within the power systems engineering domain, ideally in the power system protection and generation sector.
  • Proven ability to model and design protection algorithms and power systems.
  • Expertise in EMT modelling and simulation, like Simulink, and experience with test equipment such as Omicron or similar.
  • A comprehensive understanding of electrical power systems and its components like generators, motors, transformers and power converters and their specific protection needs.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting protection standards and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills in technical English, both spoken and written (advanced level).

Salary

The actual minimum salary is 80,000 EUR gross per year (on a 38.5-hour basis), the actual salary depends on your qualifications and experience. The salary is paid 14 times per year. The collective agreement Metallgewerbe applies.
